Functions of the Parish Nursing Ministry -

  • Integrator of Faith and Health: In all activities and contacts, the parish nurse seeks to promote the understanding of relationships between faith and health.
  • Health Educator: Promotes an atmosphere where individuals of all ages, through a variety of educational activities, explores the relationship between values, attitudes and lifestyles.
  • Personal Health Counselor: Discusses health related problems/questions with individuals.
  • Referral Agent and Liaison between the congregation and community resources.
  • Health Advocate: works with client, faith community and primary health resources to provide the support to do what they can and to serve as the client's voice when they to have none.
  • Developer of Support Groups -
    • A.A. Big Book meeting - Mon. 12:00 pm in St. Mark's room.
    • Al-Anon meeting - Thurs. 11:00 am in St. Mark's room.
    • A.A. Women's Closed meeting - Thurs. 2:00 pm in St. Mark's room.
    • A.A. Step Mtg. - Fri. 12:00 pm in St. Mark's room.   
    • Exercise Club - Wed. 9:30 am in the Parish Center.

The Parish Nurses Office is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.  There is a nurse present for blood pressure readings, consultation and education.
